I shot this photo around 5:30 am in the morning. The building shown is a store called The Kite Loft – it’s an iconic shop on the boardwalk in the vacation destination Ocean City, Maryland (OCMD). They sell kites – as you can imagine – as well as games and puzzles, toys, jewelry, flags, and more. It’s a family owned business that we’ve visited annually for 20+ years. Our best games (and kites) come from this store.
To get the right perspective for the shot, I stood on the concrete barrier at the edge of the boardwalk with the tripod-mounted camera. The light cast on the face of the building is that of the very bright headlights from the beach-cleaning tractors.
