This photo is one of 8 exposures taken in rapid succession using a macro lens. It was only upon looking more closely at it that I could see the two insects stacked on top of one another.
In the 7 other exposures, taken over the 4 or 5 second duration the bee was gathering nectar, the smaller insects weren’t visible. I feel very fortunate to have held the shutter down AND also for having been able to use a tool like Lightroom to look even more closely.
For some people, clover is a nuisance in their yard, but I have found there are treasures to be had when one looks more closely. For someone who doesn’t have a macro lens, a good quality glass magnifier will help to reveal a new world of life and beauty in a very small area of lawn.
