Our late chicken, Goldie, meets up with and ultimately, scared away this rabbit.
Goldie was part of our first ever flock of chickens. I brought home four day-old chicks to my family in March 2020 – and that began our love of keeping backyard chickens. Our first four birds were nothing special in terms of their breed … but they taught us so much about chickens. From them we learned about dust bathing, scratching for goodies in the soil, their language, and their individual personalities. Their names were Chatty, Rosie, Rubie, and Goldie. Goldie lived the longest and was the champion of our yard. She knew were all the good bugs could be found and helped us with gardening.
