Prior to moving to Ohio, I walked several days a week with a neighbor named Mike.
One of the alleyways we walked along bordered a cornfield.
The sloped, grassy margin between the blacktop of the road and the field was littered with grass clippings and the contents of discarded planters.
A long, beautiful patch of multi-colored flowers emerged one year in late spring.
I carried my camera on a subsequent walk and Mike helped me get this and many other photos.
The name of the flower escapes me at the moment.
